Application of IEM in Land Degradation Control in West China: Successful Stories of PRC-GEF Partnership on Land Degradation in Dryland Ecosystem

Distinguished Delegates, Ladies and Gentlemen, As a critical environmental issue threatening human beings' livelihood and development, land degradation (LD) has increasingly gained extensive concern from the international community. There is still a need to continuously seek how to eliminate the root of LD and improve effectiveness and efficiency of LD control. PRC-GEF Partnership on Land Degradation in Dryland Ecosystems (hereafter the Partnership) has made good trials in this field. The project has employed the IEM approach in practice in LD control, and has gained remarkable achievements.
