THE EFFECTS OF REFACTORING PROCESSES ON PTOGRAM QUALITY

Refactoring a program is to reconstruct it from thernviewpoint of the improvement in the maintainability andrnthe extendibility, without changing its exterior behavior.rnMartin Fowler offers 72 refactoring operations based onrnObject Oriented development technology. There are thernfollowing problems in the refactoring. The first problemrnis that it cannot be decided uniquely where should bernrefactored in the existing program to improve it. Thernsecond problem is that it is difficult to determine whichrnrefactoring operation is the most effective in thernprogram improvement. The third problem is that it isrnhard to judge the refactored program has good effectrnobjectively.rnIn this paper, we performed two case studies from thernviewpoint of learning object oriented concept andrndiscuss the reuse of refactoring processes to solve thesernproblems.
