DEVELOPING MULTIPLE AUTOMOTIVE ENERGY IN CHINA BYUTILIZING NATURAL GAS

In regard with the fact that the increasingly seriousrnair pollution caused by exhaust emissions fromrnautomobiles in China, a strategy of cleaner fuel oils shouldrnbe carried out, which focuses on the rationalization ofrngasoline structure and increasing those gasolinerncomponents with low sulfur, olefin and high octane.rnHowever, with the boosting of both domestic automobilernpossession and ethylene capacity, the lack of crude oilrnsupply, the contend for raw material (naphtha) between thernoil refinery industry and the ethylene industry will becomerntrue, and then the development of cleaner fuel oils andrnethylene must be restrained. With increasing the share ofrnnatural gas (NG) in China energy consumption, therngovernment should accelerate development of NGrnautomobile, form the multiple automotive energy structure,rnso as to replacing partly gasoline and diesel with abundantrnand clean NG. Meanwhile the precious oils resourcernshould be used as the raw materials of petrochemicalrnindustry, which is very difficult to be substituted by otherrnresources in large scale. All measures mentioned abovernwould greatly contribute to national sustainablerndevelopment of energy, economy and environment.
