INDUSTRIAL LOCATION IN CHINA

Industrial location is an important influenced factorrnfor the industrial activities. This paper seeks to present arngeneral understanding of the specialties about locationrndecision-making in China as well as some relevant issues.rnThe surveys of this paper were taken within somernlocal manufacturing companies and internationalrncompanies, which come from UK, US and Hong Kong.rnCompared with the location decision-making betweenrnwestern countries and China, we find the following threernissues --- government policy, public relationship and therndevelopment speed, may be most important for thernindustrial enterprises, especially the small-to-medium sizernmanufacturing enterprises, to build their factories in Chinarnat first time. The government policy includes the nationalrnstrategies and the local preferential policies. And thernpublic relationship refers to the relationships betweenrngovernment and the company; the company and thernsociety. The speed of local development and its relativernratio against surrounding areas are involved in therndevelopment speed issue.rnThis paper is divided into four parts. These fourrnsections are arranged according to the special issues ofrnindustrial location in China considered. We will reviewrnthe common influenced factors about location decisionmakingrnin western countries at first. Then the part twornprovides insights into these three specialties and theirrnimpacts with illustrating the survey results. And finally,rnthe paper ends with the conclusion and a suggestion.
