The accurate measurement of oxygen content in flue gas at coal fired power plant is important for realizing closed-loop control and optimization of combustion processes. A cloud model is incorporated into the measurement of oxygen content in flue gas. A qualitative and quantitative transformation fusion model based on the cloud model theory is established. The oxygen content in flue gas from real-time measurement at coal fired power plant is estimated using traditional arithmetic average, weighted mean fusion method as well as cloud model theory. Practical tests were undertaken to determine the oxygen content in the flue gas by using the three methods for practical operating data. The test results show that the proposed method produces more accurate measurement values than the one given by the arithmetic mean of a finite number of sensors.
