In modern Electronic Warfare, Range Gate Pull Off (RGPO) jamming is a general method in cheating the range tracking system of Terminal Guidance Radar. The RGPO jamming simulator plays an important role in the process of designing Germinal Guidance Radar, which could test the radar's anti-jamming ability, and improve the radar's general performance. In this paper, the basic concept and theory of RGPO jamming are generalized, and the scheme of a RGPO jamming simulator based on Digital Signal Processor (DSP) is demonstrated in detail. In this scheme, a DSP is used as the controller of the simulator to achieve flexible operation and rapid system response. Several programmable hardware timers are designed through Complex Programmable Logic Device (CPLD) to achieve accurate delay of the jamming pulses. Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) technique is employed to generate complex echo signal. This RGPO jamming simulator has the advantages of small volume, easy operation, high reliability and low cost and so on. Experiment result shows that it achieved expected performance. It has already been used in an automatic test system for Terminal Guidance Radar.
