Experimental Evaluation of Intersymbol Interference in Non-Far Region Transmission using 60GHz-Band Large Array Antennas

We demonstrate ISI degradation due to the nonuniformityof the aperture field experimentally for the firsttime. For ideal uniform excitation, ISI is dominated by thedelay difference from each element. For actual excitation,ISI is affected significantly by the non-uniformity of theaperture field. Therefore, ISI is essentially dependent onthe observation point and should be evaluated additionallyalong other axes.
