Adaptation lies at the heart of our approach to managing the coast, recognising uncertainty and the need to adapt to the dynamic system that we are managing. Adapting is as relevant to our thinking about how we manage the coast, and in adapting to our changing understanding, as it is to the way in which we actually adapt to the change.
