This paper presents the design of grounding grid system for substations. In last past years the design engineers follows steps of grounding grid design as per IEEE standard 80-2013, which is complicated process. This digital application is mainly concerned with development of Standalone software with using Visual Studio, named by “Grounding Grid Designer”, which calculated accurate grounding system as per guidelines given by IEEE standard 80-2013. After applying this computer aid application the complexity as well as time will reduces. This paper mainly conduct three mostly applicable grounding grid design:-Square Shape, Rectangular Shape, and L-shape. After developed software, the results obtained by standalone software is compared by sample calculation of square grid with ground rods design which is given into the IEEE 80-2000 standard in Annex B.
