In recent years, several methods have been presented for optimized use of resources in cloud datacenters networks, which are mainly based on fat-tree connections. In this paper, a new algorithm for traffic engineering (TE) in a modular mode is presented. In the proposed algorithm, the less loaded paths for conduction of current are selected with regard to the present conditions as soon as a current is generated between two hosts, their position is identified in the data center network, and the paths between the two are obtained. Results achieved from Mininet emulator indicate that performance of Modular Traffic Engineering (MTE) method is on average 70% better than the algorithm dominantly applied in equal-cost multipath routing (ECMP) datacenters. Although the time during which data is read from OpenFlow switches imposes overflow on the system, such overflows are of insignificant impacts on performance of the algorithm.
