Desulfurization of Tuncbilek lignitic coals by washing

Desulfurization of Tuncbilek coals by physical methods has been investigated. Samples were feceived from high sulfur containing zones. The sampleswere divided into 3 - 1, 1 - 0.5, 0.5 - 0.1 and -0.1 fractions and were subjected to foat-sink tests on a special apparatus. Float-sink tests were evaluated in the light of coal-ash-sulfur liberation. In order to compare the results of float-sink test with the data from practises, same fractions were washed in shaking tables. It was observed that particle size has not provided a notable rational change but washing would bring some advantages for sulfur emission.
