Time-lapse (4D) seismic data acquired over the NorwegianrnNorth Sea Jotun Field is used to monitor water sweep in thernPaleocene-age Heimdal reservoir. Inversion of the seismicrndifferences provides a direct measure of the impedance increasernassociated with water displacing oil. This highresolutionrnimage of water sweep is consistent with productionrnlogging tool (PLT) data acquired in seven wells in the field.rnCombined with integrated reservoir facies interpretations andrnwith other production data, the 4D data successfully deriskedrnseveral proposed infill well locations and has identified newrnworkover candidates and drilling opportunities in the field.rnThe results of this work demonstrate the strength of applyingrnmultidisciplinary team efforts and partner cooperation to optimizernasset value through tailored data acquisition programsrnand drilling.
