The influence of functional materials on acidogenic performance of anaerobic solid-state organic waste degradation was conducted by a rotational drum fermentation system (RDFS) under mesophilic condition and a reaction time of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 days. Soybean meal was used as substrate. Maifan stone, one of the functional materials was added to the substrate by the dose of 1 % , 3% and 5% mixture of seeding sludge and substrate. Volatile acid (VA, as acetic acid) ranged from 11. 8 to 16. 5g/L and volatile solid (VS) degradation ratios of 33. 8% to 43. 3% were obtained. The results showed that pH values were elevated from 5. 2 to 5. 5 with Maifan stone addition. The unionized volatile acid portion decreased by Maifan stone presence. However, Maifan stone affected volatile acid spectrum slightly after 25 days digestion time.
