TEST METHODS AND COMPLIANCE WITH PRODUCT SUBSTANCE BANS

Motorola Labs has a lab dedicated to the testing andrnanalysis of electronic products for compliance to globalrnenvironmental regulations. Our research team has developedrna set of screening test methods and standards for RoHS thatrnare robust and provide definitive data for the level ofrnrestricted and hazardous substances present. Our talk willrnsummarize our work with the IEC, MII (China) and ASTMrnstandards committees and provide details on the testrnmethods and analyzing the resulting data. Approaches forrntesting materials, components and products will berndiscussed particularly as they relate to determiningrncompliance with EU directives and building a compliantrnsupply chain.
