Numerous mutants have been reported in different crop species, many of which have been officially released as mutant varieties [1]. However, very limited information is available on their mutated genes. When breeding objectives became the focus of almost every mutation breeding programme, information on the mutated gene became less important than improving the character of the mutant itself. The genetic explanation of a mutated gene is based only on the performance of a mutant in the M_3 generation. If the selected character of the mutant appears to be homogeneous in the M_3 line, then it is said that the dominant gene has been mutated to become a recessive gene and that possibly only one gene has been mutated. So far, this prediction has been true, but a homozygous selected character that performed homogeneously in the M_3 line could also be controlled by a dominant gene, although this probability is very low.
