摘要

In the area of Industrial Gases, membranes appeared about 15 years ago, facing the strong competition of classical technologies for gases purification and production: cryogenic distillation, absorption and adsorption. Today, Membranes based systems have definitely demonstrated their ability to play a major role in Industrial Gases activity: Nitrogen On-Site production, as well as Hydrogen recovery and Natural Gas treatments. This paper aims at presenting the main developments that have led to the present state of the art: polymers and hollow fibers improvements, bundles technologies, On-Site generators and equipment for Process Industries or specific applications.
