An Interface Modeling Framework for Third Party LogisticsServices Assessment

This paper examines a multitude of surveys from earlier researches in the field of Third Party Logistics (3PL) in anrnattempt to illuminate the key factors in successful “3PL Service Provider (3PLSP) - customer relationships” andrntheir core competencies. It investigates the cause of the waxing and waning of 3PL performance in the early and latern90s respectively. In this regard, the paper presents an “Interface Model” to better assess the 3PLSP-customerrnrelationships. Consequently it analyzes the plausible reasons for the failure of 3PLSP and discusses its future.
