摘要

The food court in Binghamton University caters to the needs of its students. It has seven shops, which work independently of one another. The current system layout does not take into account the demand variations between different shops and hence significantly affect the effectiveness and performance of the system. This research studies the existing operation of food court and provides strategies/solutions to improve system performance. A simulationbased approach was employed for streamlining the process flow. The proposed system can reduce the average waiting time of the customers by approximately 83% and result in an effective allocation of resources.
