A Framework for Quantitative Enterprise Strategy Management Using Strategy Maps

This paper extends the Balances Scorecard (BSC) into an iterative bidirectional quantitative strategy management framework. The top-down direction uses simulation to understand the cause and effect relationships between these various metrics. Simulation allows to model time-phase, uncertainty and creates a picture of the enterprise future performance. The bottom-up component of this framework is fact-driven. The relationships between these measures are used as feedback to the simulation component. This feedback allows refining the simulation model, and improves its accuracy based on actual data collected and mined by the performance management framework component.
