摘要

Although there are many various architectures being applied for and developed data warehouse and OLAP systems, none of them is considered as the dominant data warehouse architecture. In this article we propose architecture for data warehouses based on an object-relational database management system. This architecture intends to combine most advantages of current common data warehouse architectures. Based on this architecture, data warehouses can be developed efficiently as object-oriented application developed efficiently as object-oriented application software. The flexibility is given by the introduction of a metadata layer in the object-relational data warehouse architecture.
