Wing-induced damage to buildings in Japan and countermeasures

摘要

This paper describes wind-induced building damage and countermeasures. It first reviews wind force characteristics and various features of damage to building elements. Then, it discusses the relationship between wind speed and damage and the reasons for recent reduction in wind damage to houses in Japan. Finally, it describes methods of suppressing wind-induced responses.
