APPLICATION OF THE 'UNIFIED ENERGY SOLUTIONS' PACKAGE IN SAMSUNG FINE CHEMICALS

Unified Energy Solutions (UES) portfolio is an advanced control and optimisation package for utilities and industrial energy (combined heat and power plant). UES components are running as a supervisory layer providing set points to existing plant regulatory control layer. The objective of the UES is to operate the plant with maximum achievable profit (maximum efficiency) under the constraints imposed by technology and environmental impacts. The application of UES in Samsung Fine Chemicals (SFC) plant enables the customer to fully use the additional degrees of freedom for optimisation that result from modification of one of the boilers to a new fuel and interconnection of high-pressure steam headers that enable independent load allocation to boilers and turbines.
