Long term eco-friendly and cost-effective energy storage system is one of the important parameter to make successful portable and wearable electronics. In the era of sustainable and clean energy storage system, sodium ion batteries are good alternative of lithium ion batteries. 3-D interconnected nanocarbons embedded with metal open a market of stable, room temperature operated flexible batteries. Among the reported 3-D interconnected nanocarbons, carbon nanofibers are inexpensive and proven to be high capacity anode material for batteries. Herein, novel copper nanoparticles incorporated 3-D interconnected carbon nanofibers grown cloth used as hybrid anode. This hybrid architect anode gives superb electrochemical performance via providing ample of interlayer distance which balances the volume change and enhances the electrode/electrolyte contacts by minimizing the sodium ion diffusion distance.
