摘要

A Finite Element-Finite Volume coupled method is used for the computation of the parameters of a turbulent flow of conducting liquid in a 3D electromagnetic field. A Finite Element model in vector and scalar potential formulation has been used. The velocity u and pressure P fields are predicted with a turbulent viscosity model solved by a Finite Volume method. The effect of the σu × b currents (where σ denotes the electric conductivity and b the magnetic induction) on the body forces and on the velocity field has been evaluated in the case of the rotational electromagnetic stirring of square steel billets.
