摘要

We propose an event-based emergency control method using wide area control system for utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) generation systems for transient stability improvement in power systems. In the method, we selects the PV systems whose reactive power injections are deemed to suppress the acceleration of the critical generator, based on a time-domain simulation for each possible fault in advance to the fault. When a fault occurs, we triggers the reactive current injections by the selected PV systems. Numerical examples show that the proposed method can further improves the transient stability compared with an autonomous reactive current support function that is applied to existing PV inverters.
