The presented research work aims at evaluating the probability of constraint occurrence in a distribution network while the hosting capacity of Renewable Energy Sources is not respected. Network sizing rules are discussed, working on a methodology which points out more precisely where the RES hosting capacity are the most critical. Firstly, the hosting capacity at each individual bus in the CIGRE medium voltage distribution network benchmark is investigated separately. Then, a test case where the hosting capacity at each bus is violated by 100% is considered: the probability of voltage constraint and power constraint in every asset of the studied power system for each violation is calculated. The impact of the violation of the hosting capacity at each bus is compared in order to identify the strongest bus preferred for connecting renewable sources and the critical parts for network reinforcement.
