Complex programmable logic device (CPLD) can be reconfigured to perform any desired application, the main theme of this paper was to reconfigure the CPLD which performs addition operation after detecting the given sequence for the choice of implementing security for the particular operation just like password protection. It mainly focused on designing an adder which performs its addition operation after detecting the particular sequence or header, the PIC microcontroller based Sequence generator is designed and interfaced with the CPLD through a separate connector, the pre programmed CPLD is configured to do addition or any operation only after the correct sequence got detected, any wrong sequence detection can lead to no operation of CPLD, this mechanism can aid like a password or security for the hardware entity to do any secure operations, the paper mainly concentrating on sequence generation of correct sequence of user's choice by PIC microcontroller then detection by the CPLD through VHDL coding standards and at last performing addition operation, the status of the entire operation can be known through a display mechanism of the user's choice.
