Moving objects, such as air vehicles and submarines, will accumulate charges on the surfaces during movements due to the frictions with air or water. These accumulated moving charges radiate electromagnetic waves, which propagate between the earth and ionosphere. The study on such kind of electromagnetic wave radiations and propagations helps the related technologies, such as remote sensing, target detections, etc. In this article, this practical problem is first modeled as an electromagnetic problem of a charge moving between the earth and ionosphere. Then, the theory of planarly layered media is employed to rigorously compute the full wave solutions. As the method is analytical, it is not restricted by the electrical size of the problem. Numerical results show that this method is effective to solve the radiation problems of a charged moving object.
