This paper presents the design and characterization of triple-band microstrip patch antenna made of artificial magnetic conductor (AMC). The use of AMC is aimed to generate other resonant frequencies so as to get a triple-band frequency response. The AMC is structured by a square ring with two gaps arranged in 2×2 configuration. The proposed antenna has the dimension of 52mm × 52mm and is implemented on 2 layers of FR4 Epoxy dielectric substrate with the relative permittivity of 4.2 and the total thickness of 3.2mm. The results of characterization show that the proposed micorstrip patch antenna can produce a triple-band frequency response with the center frequency of 1.625GHz, 1.8GHz and 2.025GHz.
