摘要

In this paper, a new strategy to improve ride comfort without violating the rattle space restriction is developed. The control proposed combines a skyhook damping with a groundhook damping depending upon the relative suspension deflection. The control law is designed by considering two variable damping coefficients, which are varying according to the function which is dependent on relative suspension deflection. The main purpose of this paper is to have good ride comfort while restricting the relative suspension displacement much below unity. The paper analyses the performance mathematically for a general rough road profile. The system is validated in simulation using MATLAB and by experimental testing on a scaled laboratory setup.
