The Problem of the Meaning of the Etruscan Term 'Haruspicia' in the Abkhaz – Circassian Languages

The article is devoted to the analysis of the Etruscan meaning of the term haruspicia, the first part of the word which is reconstructed as haru - 'light from inside, the spirit from inside' on the Abkhaz-Circassian level, the second part is associated with the Latin verb specio (spicio) - 'look, see, observe.' The analysis of the lexico-semantic parallels, first of all, Abkhaz-Circassian and Hattian, allows the authors to make the conclusion that the Etruscan word haruspicia can be interpreted as a denotation of the light coming from within. This light in the image of the evil spirit is considered by witches and foretells fate.
