Current injection probe plays an important role in BCI(bulk current injection) technology and other EMC(Electromagnetic Compatibility) test fields. An optimization method which combines MATLAB and electromagnetic simulation software CST is proposed. Besides the magnetic characteristics of ferrite cores, mechanical parameters such as the outer diameter of the probe cavity will affect the leakage inductance and parasitic capacitance, which in turn affects the insertion loss of the probe. The key mechanical parameters of probe are computed and optimized with the aid of the objective function in MATLAB. The CST Microwave Studio is employed in MATLAB to execute full-wave iterative analyses.Using the above method, the current injection probe in frequency range from 10 kHz to 400 MHz is designed. Simulation result indicates that the performance of the designed probe and its calibration fixture meet the requirement of standard.
