The hybrid geometry compact design of exponential tapered patch (ETP) antenna is presented for C-band applications. This compact antenna is designed with the semi-split ring resonator (SRR) slots and the annular ring slot on radiating patch with defected ground structure (DGS) is proposed. The ETP antenna operates at 6.95GHz frequency with return loss - 33.29dB. The intensive investigations have been carried out with semi-SRR slots to produce circular polarization. The axial ratio (AR) of the ETP antenna is less than 3dB. The simulated and measured values are show good agreement.
