A design for an antenna array element that can be used for observation of the cosmic ray effects is present in this work. The antenna has a high efficiency of -1.5 dB over a relative bandwidth of 88%, a conical beamwidth of at least 120 degrees and very stable radiation pattern with a less than 3.5 dB variation across frequency. It is dual polarized and has a simple mechanical structure. Furthermore, the ground on which it is placed has insignificant impact on the overall radiation pattern.
