A new dual-band diversity antenna used for mobile phone

In this paper, a new space diversity antenna for mobile phones has been proposed and fabricated. It consists of two symmetrical PIFA with a small step-ground in a compact space of the size of a mobile phone. To improve the isolation between the two diversity antennas, a slot on the center of the ground plane is adopted to cut off the conducted current between the two antennas.
