Development of User Friendly Color Registration Simulator

A highly flexible, user-friendly simulator --utilizing an intuitive drag-and-drop block-diagram interface -- has been developed. This simulator can model the complicated printer configuration easily and efficiently by utilizing basic components like a drive roller, a tension roller, an idle roller, an intermediate transfer belt, a transfer unit, and an exposure unit. It can provide the optimal configuration of a photoconductive belt unit of a laser color printer. Experiment results on a photoconductive belt unit with a velocity fluctuation were compared with simulation results from the developed simulator. Accordingly, they were found to show good agreement, which validates the developed simulator.
