摘要

Database management is a core technology in the information industry, especially in the applications of electronic commerce (EC). To satisfy the requirements of EC systems, such as effectiveness, flexibility, personalization, etc., traditional database management techniques become complicated and ineffective. This paper is a preliminary study on how and why deductive database management systems are needed in EC systems. A deduction-based framework is designed and presented in this paper. The framework is applied to the pricing problem in EC. We show that how this technique can serve as a tool of decision-making for marketing managers.
