HETEROGENEOUS SOFTWARE REPOSITORY: MPR A TEXT-BASED MODEL

This paper examines the role that efficiently managed heterogeneous software repositories play in the success of component-based software engineering. The paper takes an in-depth look at the efficiency with which software repositories can be traversed for the retrieval of specific reusable components through a text-based approach. This approach is compared to alternative component retrieval methods. It also outlines the basic features of the prototype MPR, which we have built, and gives some of the benefits it offers to software developers.
