The purpose of this paper is to introduce the design procedure of drilled shafts for HSR(High Speed Rail) being constructed on the soft soil under high probability of earthquake. The behaviors of drilled shaft are analyzed by the series of lateral and vertical pile load tests to verify the characteristics of soil layers and the bearing capacity of drilled shafts. For the estimation of dynamic soil properties, the shear wave velocities are measured by the downhole test. And for the estimation of reduction factor by the liquefaction, series of field and laboratory tests are performed. From the analysis for dynamic behavior of pile, it is found that the maximum bending moment and pile deflections in a group under seismic loading are highly dependent on ground period, liquefaction potential, pile group effect and nonlinearity of soil.
