摘要

Xiaowan Arch Dam stands at high river valley, with the maximum landform differencernof around 12,00m and moderate to slight high geostatic stress, especially at the bottom of thernvalley concentrated with high stress. After the excavation of the dam foundation, the stress reliefrnsuch as rock burst, the existed hidden fissures being made open and further expanded in lengthrnand width, all of which produced obvious impact on deformation and shear strength of the rockrnmass.
