摘要

In this paper, the effects of titanium and boron on the hardenability of 20MnVB steel smelted with converter or open-hearth are studied. It is shown that the effective boron and excessive titanium are then decisive parameters that influence the hardenability band width of 20MnVB steel. The optimum ranges of these two parameters are determined. The optimum contents of titanium and boron to obtain ideal hardenability band are proposed.
