Partial discharge location in transformer windings

摘要

This paper discusses techniques to locaternpartial discharges (PD) in transformer windings byrnelectrical means. Experimental investigations wererncarried out on an ordinary winding and an interleavedrnwinding. The PD signals are measured from the linernand neutral terminals. Depending on the frequencyrnrange, the traveling wave or the capacitive ratiornmethod can be applied for locating the PD source.rnThis is achieved by using either hardware analogrnfilters or software digital filters.
