Comparative PD measurements under damped and continuous AC energisingvoltages with respect to preventive on-site PD diagnosis tests of mediumvoltage power cables

The submitted paper deals withrncomparative PD studies on insulation defectsrnunder both, continuous and damped AC voltages.rnThe PD data of different failure types werernanalysed based on advanced digital PD signalrnprocessing. The test results reveal, that the PDrnbehaviour under both kinds of voltage stressesrnare well comparable for insulation defects in solidrndielectrics. Only for PD sources in pure air gapsrnlarger deviations have been found.
