Based on the utility experiences withrndistribution power cables as obtained for on-site PDrndiagnosis this contribution discusses the generation ofrndamped AC voltages for PD detection on HVrntransmission cables. In particular a new solution ofrnDAC voltage generation up to 250kV and thernpossibilities of sensitive PD detection and PD siternlocation are presented here.
