Experience in PD diagnosis tests of HV cable terminations in service using theultra-wide band PD probing

The submitted paper deals with ultrawidernband PD probing of HV cable terminationsrnin service. Under noisy on-site condition a PDrndetection sensitivity as low as few Pc could bernachieved. Using advanced digital signalrnprocessing, the stored PD data were analysedrncycle-by-cycle, after the on-site tests have beenrnfinished. Due to this method a large number ofrnterminations could be inspected within arncomparatively short time. The PD patternsrnobtained in the UHF range are well comparablernwith those, obtained by the conventional IECrnmethod. Hence, for identification the recognisedrnPD events existing knowledge on PD patternrnrecognition could be used.
