In this paper, we propose the combined utilization of x-rayrntomography and magnetic resonance techniques forrnquantification of heavy oil fluid properties. The design ofrnthese systems is presented along with preliminary resultsrncombined with conventional measurements. The objective isrnto understand the PVT behavior of a viscous heavy oil from reservoir that has undergone primary production. Methane isrndissolved into the oil at ambient temperature and elevatedrnpressure. The pressure is later slowly depleted and the oilrnPVT properties are recorded. Specifically, this paper detailsrnmeasurements of oil density, formation value factor, andrnsolution gas-oil-ratio as a function of pressure. Thernincremental benefit of the proposed nucleonic techniques isrnthat they provide more detailed information about that oil,rncompared to conventional PVT measurements. This improvesrnour understanding of the foamy oil response.
