Can a more neutral position and support of the forearms at the table top reduce pain for VDU operators. Laboratory and field studies

摘要

Giving VDU operators the possibility to support of the forearms on the table top in front of the them and operating the mouse with a more neutral position of the forearm, reduced significantly the load on the extensor digitorum communis, extensor carpi ulnaris and musculus trapezius with a corresponding reduction of pain in the upper part of the body. The static load seem to be predictor for the development of musculoskeletal illness in the upper part of the body.
