摘要

In the present study, boron adsorption on hydrotalcites-like (HTs) compounds was evaluated to verify applications in water remediation processes. HTs showed to be efficient in boron removal. Mg-Fe and Mg-Al hydrotalcites were prepared by the coprecipitation method and its affinity with boron in aqueous medium was studied as a function of time, initial pH, HT dose and boron concentration. Mg-Al hydrotalcite was more efficient in boron removal (92 %) than Mg-Fe one. The boron content in water after the optimum treatment was near the recommended limit by WHO for drinking water (0.5 mg L~(-1)).
