Legislation and cost reduction are driving the development of advanced fuel injection systems. Laser drilling of fuel injection components has been under development since the early 1990s. In recent years it has been applied in gasoline injector, diesel injector and fuel filter production. In this paper we discuss the laser process optimization including laser type and motion control solutions.
