As a result of statistics and analysis based on 5 years Phosphorus(P) content monitoring materials in Gansu Province, there are following results have been reached: 1. P content in water has a direct connction with surface run-off and discharge volume of domestic sewage, the law of P content change in water is various between different rivers(reservoirs) and in different times. 2. P pollution in water is in a serious situation, in the main stream of Yellow River, Weihe River and Shiyang River, P content increased from upper stream to down stream; 3. The severe P pollution trend can't be controlled in a short time, economic and social development in the affected areas have been greatly influenced, so it's an urgent task to control and deal with this situation. Different plans should be prepared due to different pollution situations, different pollution sources for different rivers (reservoirs)
